About RxTx

Our story

RxTx began as a wireless audio equipment hire company. Rx and Tx: receive and transmit. Today we're the production team behind festivals, tours and arena shows.

Our roots are technical. Founder Will Hurn spent nearly a decade as an audio engineer and system tech, on tour with Midge Ure, Sundara Karma, Bombay Bicycle Club, Pixie Lott, Glenn Hughes and many more, and on stadium and arena shows for STS Touring Productions, Britannia Row and Solotech. Alongside that work, RxTx started life hiring high-end wireless microphone and in-ear monitoring systems to productions across Manchester.

Those years on the technical side of the stage taught us how shows are really built: what every department needs, where the pressure points are, and what separates a show that runs from one that runs beautifully. In late 2023, guided by mentor Neil McDonald of Clockwork Production, we set out to put that knowledge to work in production management. Twelve months on festival sites later, the hire business was sold and RxTx became a production company full time.

One show leads to the next

Our first production client came through our friends and colleagues, when Pete Dutton & Richard Knowles of STS Toruing Productions introduced us to Edward and Anthony Prophet as they launched a brand-new festival, The Brit Fest. Since then, RxTx has grown almost entirely through word of mouth. Client recommendations have opened the door to some incredible projects over the past three years, from international tours to arena shows, stadium fixtures and festivals across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

How we work

Because we've stood behind the desk and on the stage, we plan productions the way crews actually deliver them, speak every department's language and spot problems long before they reach the show. Will's calm approach, keen eye for detail and drive behind every project sets the tone for the whole team, from the freelancers we work alongside to the suppliers we bring together.

It's a reputation built show by show, and we're only just getting started.
